"StoryRock Launches New Multimedia Yearbook"

...With print yearbook prices skyrocketing the last few years to a national average of $65, more and more schools are looking for new ways to cut costs but still keep the memory tradition alive.  Once they find that a digital offering not only costs less than $10 but showcases their students in a way print yearbooks never could, schools are willing to give 21st century technology a try.

..."For anyone who fears technology, change, or both, this replaces that fear with applause from your tech-savvy students," explains Laura Mabbott, 5th grade teacher in the Huff Elementary (CA) Gifted and Talented program.  "Students today shouldn't be limited to the confines of paper."

..."If a picture is worth a thousand words, and a video is made up of a thousand pictures, just goes to show you how many words you can say about video and how much better it is," says Sean Casey, a 9th grader on the Chaminade Preparatory Middle School yearbook staff in Los Angeles.
